20 Nov Winter skin with Olay
Having healthy and hydrated skin in the wintertime is a daunting task. Pollutants, cold air outside, and dry indoor heating make the perfect recipe for dry and dull skin. One of the best ways to combat that is to incorporate exfoliation into your skincare routine.
I exfoliate 3 times a week, I have found that to be the perfect balance for my skin. Lately, I’ve been using the Detoxifying Scrub from Olay. It’s ingredients include: charcoal, which helps detox the skin, and victamin C which helps combat hyperpigmentation and brightens the skin. If you’re looking for added hydration I would alternate the Detoxifying Scrub with the Hydrating Scrub (every other time you exfoliate switch them out). The Hydrating Scrub has Caviar Lime which helps add moisture back into the skin.
Why is exfoliation so important? It helps buff away dead skin cells. Removing them means we also remove a barrier that prevents your products from fully penetrating your skin (which alters their effectiveness). Exfoliation helps your serums and moisturizes work better to keep your skin healthy and hydrated. After exfoliating, but before my moisturizer, I’ve been using Olay’s Serum sticks for added nutrients. I personally can’t choose just one, so I use them interchangeably both morning and night.
