SHOP THE LOOK
It’s been quite sometime since I’ve done an outfit post. No, it isn’t because I’ve been busy.. it’s honestly because I’ve been having body issues. I’m going to be super transparent with you guys on this post.
Turning 30 has been great. I’m more established, I have more opportunities, I know myself better, but it came with one issue — weight gain. In the past 3 months I’ve gained almost 20 lbs!!! I don’t know how. My eating and workout habits are all still the same. Needless to say, none of my clothes fit. And the ones that do, don’t fit the same at 140 as they did at 125. This weight gain has made me extremely self conscious, and so I haven’t wanted to post pictures of myself or my body. I’m naturally very thin, so any weight I’ve gained was probably necessary & isn’t even that noticeable to most people. But that’s not the point. The point is that I noticed… and it made ME uncomfortable. This past week I started working out and eating small portions and I’ve noticed a difference. This slight change gave me the confidence boost I needed to start posting images of myself.
I’ve had people tell me” you’re still so skinny, I don’t get it”, and I honestly feel like it isn’t for anyone to “get” but me. Whatever your goal weight or body is — it’s yours, and you owe nobody an explanation for how YOU want to look. Your self esteem and happiness are all in your control, do not allow the unsolicited opinions of others affect what you want from you.
So cheers to me for beating body issues, and stepping back up to my style posts. I feel like I’m back — all mixed prints, bright colors, and full of confidence ME.
