03 Jul Sip w/ Vic: Turmeric Wellness Shot
I want to apologize for my lack of posts lately. I have been dealing with alot. Between a friend committing suicide (which I will blog about eventually once the pain subsides), being sick, and trying to work… blogging was placed on the back burner. Yes, you read right, I’ve been sick! It’s July..and I have a cold!!!!! I don’t really take medicine, I prefer to try to combat things naturally. This week’s Sip With Vic is all about naturally getting over a cold. I take this turmeric wellness shot twice a day whenever I’m feeling sick. It’s an immune and energy boosting super shot!
HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED:
- 1 cup of coconut milk or water (I prefer milk)
- 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- A sliver of fresh ginger (you only need a SMALL piece)
- 1/2 of an orange
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Turmeric (not pictured, but I did use it)
All you have to do is place all the ingredients in your blender (I used my Nutri-Ninja), and blend for 60 seconds. This is a wellness SHOT. So, this recipe makes 4 servings..a of this stuff goes a long way.
These ingredients together are jam packed with all the good stuff to help you feel better. Ginger is a powerful antioxidant that increases circulation and reduces inflammation. Coconut milk has tons of potassium and electrolytes. Lemons & Oranges are packed full of Vitamin C (which helps fight sickness & boosts your immune system). Turmeric boosts your immune system, gives you energy, and happens to be a super food for skin too.
