15 Apr Travel Edit: Santa Monica Proper
When you close your eyes and hear the words “aesthetic hotel”, you’ll probably imagine a perfectly curated selection of well designed pieces. A hotel that feels luxurious yet inviting, lush textiles and prints where art meets minimalism. That is what I felt when I walked into the Santa Monica Proper Hotel. I was greeted by a friendly (and well dressed) staff, and walked through what felt like a Pinterest board brought to fruition.
WHAT I LOVED
The obvious allure to a hotel like Santa Monica Proper is the design. Every corner is photographable, and every detail has been curated. If you’re looking for a pretty place to sleep in LA, you don’t need to look much further. We stayed in the King Suite with a balcony and felt completely at home. Everything from the windows to the lights were automated, merging luxury and tech. Room service was quick and the food was better than most hotels.
We used our time at Santa Monica Proper as a way to unplug. We didn’t do much while there, and opted for quiet time in our room exploring old films. If you’re interested in seeing a video tour of the hotel and our room you can watch the youtube video HERE
