While I am a self proclaimed beauty junkie, I am not one of those girls who frequents beauty bars. DIY has become my best friend (although sometimes also an enemy). Waxing salons, brow bars, and the likes always seem to give me anxiety…so you can imagine the circus of butterflies dancing in my stomach when I visited PRMP. What if they burn my brows off (which has actually happened before. I was left with scorched skin instead of manicured brows). What if she rips off part of my labia with the wax? And wtf is a lash lift? The last time someone did my lashes they got glue in my eyes.

The beauty bar is nestled into a cute corner of Takoma Park in NW DC. Black girl owned and run, it is the type of place I want to spend every afternoon. Upon arriving I felt more like a longtime friend than a first time client. EVERYONE was so nice and accommodating. They answered all of my questions and laid all my concerns to rest. I will briefly go through the 3 services I had done and my thoughts.

1- Brow shaping. – I was cursed  blessed with a lot of eyebrow. So much that I had a unirnos as a kid. Truthfully, I HATE getting my brows done. The only person who has ever been able to get them done the way I like is my best friend Mikhala, who has a YouTube certification and does them with subpar supplies out of her bathroom. This was until I met Nicole. My brows have NEVER looked this good. She left them thick, used some sort of thing to measure my eye for accurate brow length,  showed me an easy way to fill them in and basically made me look AMAZING.

I HATE strips, individuals, and I really hate the semi permanent kind. But I was feeling adventurous and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did. The process was very quick and easy breezy (this means a lot coming from a girl who hates her lashes to be touched). The process basically gives your natural lashes an instant boost that will last up to 2 weeks. It makes them appear darker, longer, and thicker without makeup or falsies. Below is a pic of my NATURAL lashes after the lift & tint. Lash lift natural lash service D.C. DMV PRMP beauty review3- Brazilian Wax. Part of my #365toLove journey is no sex. That also means I’ve been able to skip waxing, nair, and shaving for the past several months. In an effort to make myself feel sexy & to prep for a trip to the carribean I decided to get a Brazilian. I was nervous as f*ck. It had been almost a year since my last wax, and I’m certain I had repressed memories of the pain. Y’all. This was the most painless wax I had ever had in my life. Seriously. Nicole used hard wax and strips. She took her time and we chatted about everything from crazy exs to travel plans. There was no awkwardness and barely any pain at all. first time Brazilian wax Lash lift natural lash service D.C. DMV PRMP beauty reviewAfter my visit to PRMP and the perfection of the entire experience I have no clue where I’ll be going to get my beauty needs met now that I’m not in DC. If you ARE in the DMV…I urge you to visit PRMP. Leave me a comment below after you go, I’d love to hear about your experience there as well.
