Before there was Instagram or blogs (or even readily available internet) there was fashion. More specifically, there was my unabashaded obsession with it. In high school I would wake up at 4am and turn on the Style Channel just to catch glimpses of NYFW runway shows. I would beg my parents to buy me all the fashion magazines (I literally wanted all of them) so that I could create mood boards, before I even fully understood the concept of mood boarding.

I remember daydreaming of what I would wear to “the shows” and how it must feel to have a flock of photographers gathering to capture my perfect ensemble. Although those things, and more, have started to come to fruition I still feel like 16-year old me. I’m still in awe of the creativity of this industry. I am still so full of gratitude for the ability and opportunity to be here. My greatest fear is to wake up one day and take my life for granted. I’ve worked hard to be where I am, and it is a blessing to be paid for something I am innately passionate about.

It took me 16 years to get here, and yet I made it. Revisit your dreams and goals, don’t let them fester in doubt. Some dreams do not happen overnight, they happen when you are ready. Don’t give up on what makes your heart happy, no matter how big or small it may be. The feeling of dream catching is well worth any wait.
