Mix It Up Monday: The [Leather] LBD

black leather lvd

On Today’s edition of Mix It Up Monday I’m going to show you how to wear this little leather dress 6 different ways (well… 7 if you include wearing it by itself).  There are endless things you can you do to this dress to turn it into something completely unique, which is exactly why I consider it a wardrobe staple. I scored this little number from H&M a while back… But you can find a similar version HERE so you can buy the dress and recreate all of these looks.

LOOK 1: I simply threw a sweatshirt over the dress to turn it into a leather skirt.

LOOK 2: Add a button up shirt underneath for a more polished look.

LOOK 3: A peplum top. All I did was tuck the bottom hem of the dress up into the waistline to create a peplum effect. This takes a little bit if patience, but the end result is adorable. Make sure there is no bunching under the hem and after you are done double check to make sure the peplum is even all the way around.

LOOK 4: Add a Blazer for a more conservative look. (I added the belt to accent my waist a bit)

LOOK 5: Add a T-shirt and a belt. I Tucked the extra fabric from the shirt into the belt to make it more skirt-like.

LOOK 6: Turn it into a top by layering a skirt over of the dress. Be sure the skirt already has a bit of a flare to it so that the dress doesn’t look too bulky underneath.
