Hello Lovers,

Let me preface this whole thing by letting you know I am not  was not a yogi. Sure, I’d taken the occasional free yoga class once or twice a year, but that was about it. The only yoga pose I knew was downward dog, and I wasn’t even good at it.

I’ve always admired the art of yoga. The gracefulness and calmness of the poses. Every yogi I had ever met seemed so……zen. I wanted that, but honestly I was completely intimidated by yoga. What if I can’t keep up? What if I don’t understand the poses? Don’t they speak another language in class? I let my fears consume me until CorePower Yoga showed up in my inbox. They wanted to work with me. Reluctantly, I agreed.

The first thing I love about CPY (that’s the acronym for CorePower Yoga) is that they have locations in various cities/states. I was able to keep up with my workout while flying between LA and NYC  bi-weekly.

The second thing is how easy it was to catch on. I started with CP1. This is their “beginner” class. It isn’t heated, the poses and flows are beginner friendly, and it moves slow enough for us newbies to be able to catch on. I did CP1 3 days a week for 2 weeks. I gave myself enough time to get the general concept of the poses and to be comfortable with a flow.

Once I gained some confidence I started going to Yoga Sculpt. This is one of the best workouts I’ve ever had. In my life. This is the class I keep coming back to, and the one that has changed my body. You’re in a heated room, moving swiftly through flows, struggling with free hand weights for 60 minutes. It’s brutal. B-R-U-T-A-L. But it’s so worth it.

After 2.5 months of going consistently I’ve dropped 6 lbs, and gained a ton of confidence. After every class, even the ones where I needed to take a break, I feel so accomplished. It’s incredible just how far our bodies can go if we push them. If you’re looking for a great workout, or looking to start a yoga practice, try Core Power Yoga. I’ll even give you a free week to test the waters before you spend your cash on it (click HERE) You might regret it in the middle of class, but your body will thank you for it later.
