Hello Lovers!

Happy November! It is finally starting to feel like Fall here in LA, so I pulled out the boots. There’s this notion that Fall fashion means dark colors and minimal prints. Well, I clearly don’t follow that rule. I’ve been feeling rather.. colorful lately, both in my life, and my wardrobe. Speaking of “colorful” this past weekend I got the ball rolling on a pretty big project I can’t wait to share with you.

I’ve noticed that the blogosphere isn’t that colorful and my melanated peers aren’t heavily represented. I would like to change that. Blog In Color was created last year under the name “Black Girls Blog”. I received so much negativity from the community about how there’s already pages like BGKI and Black Girls Who Blog, and that my page was not needed. I felt attacked and intimidated, and I put my vision to the side. I was recently inspired to revisit this idea, and I’m forever grateful for that motivation. There is such a lack of brown people in the mainstream blogging world, who cares if multiple platforms for the same cause exist? In a short time Blog In Color will move from an Instagram page to an informational, educational, and networking platform for brown bloggers. I am planning on building a community full of events, merchandise, and of course a blog. If you’d like updates and to keep up with what I’m cooking up, you can  follow Blog In Color on Instagram until our site is ready to be launched.
