Hello Lovers!!!
2016 was the start of a beautiful hair journey that I’m carrying over into 2017. Last year I experimented with different braids, wigs, and hair accessories. I even made Refinery29’s list of groovy hairstyles 3 times!!!!!! One thing I had yet to try were clip-ins. I’ve always been a fan of the way they looked, but was skeptical on how well clip-ins would actually blend with my hair….then I met Fro Kurls from Heritage 1933.
I’m VERY picky about any sort of clip-ins, wigs, or add ons I do to my hair. I always want things to have that “this grew out of my scalp” look. These clip-ins are the epitome of that. My own mother asked me what I did to my hair to make it so full today, lol. The texture, color, length, even the smell (because sometimes hair has a smell)…everything looks REAL. Straight out the package the hair isn’t as big as you see in my photos. The curls are more tamed defined. But I prefer my hair huge, so I teased them up a bit. There was a slight bet of shedding (not enough to really even write about…but I’m giving you the full logistics), and I think this was mainly due to me picking, pulling, and combing them for the fullness. I was sent 2 bundles, but really you only need one bundle. In the above photos I have 1.5 bundles in..and as you can see its ALOT of hair. The thing I’m loving about clip-ins more than a wig or weave is the versatility. I’m able to put my hair half up or down, part it on either side, create bangs.. basically anything I want. The packaging says that You can wash, color, and straighten the clip-ins, but I have yet to try either of those things.
There are a ton of companies that sell kinky curly clip-ins for natural hair. What sets Heritage 1933 apart (and what I love about them) is their mission. With every product purchased they give haircare products to local shelters who help women and children in need. You guys know that I’m a supporter of anything that combines fashion or beauty with philanthropy, and heritage 1933 fits the bill.
I felt beautiful in this hair. I also felt like I didn’t need makeup or flashy clothes, because my hair really was the center of attention. If you’re looking for a hair update in 2017 try the Heritage 1933 clip-ins. Also.. use code VICSTYLES at checkout for a special discount.
