14 Jul Wine Country Wellness

Sonoma County has all the makings of a great love story. One with carefully curated vineyards,  serene rolling hills, and the type of charm you only find in small towns. Everyone is friendly, and somehow, even as a visitor you feel at home.

After a weekend full of wine, incredible food, learning, laughs, and an indescribable atmosphere.. I had fallen in love.  I was hosted by the beautiful Vintners Inn, which looked like it had been plucked from Tuscany and brought to Northern California. Not only is Vintners beautiful, but the effort they are making to decrease their footprint on the earth is unmatched. There are on-site sustainable herb and vegetable gardens that provide the resorts’ restaurants with food.  We dined in, and from, one of these gardens on our first night. I’ve never had a better or more literal farm-to table dining experience.

DAY 2

Day 2 included yoga and sound bath, and an experience at Vi La Vita Spa. The spa is home to steam rooms, an indoor Caldarium Lounge with Warm Plunge Bath, treatment rooms, sunbathing lounges, an outdoor pool, fitness area, and a relaxation lounge. My recommendation is the lavender body scrub treatment. It was the perfect fusion between scrub and massage.

DAY 3

Day 3 started with a tour of the vineyards at Vintner’s Inn, and ended with  an escape to the Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting a few wineries in my lifetime, however.. none of them are as breathtaking as Ferrari-Carano. The garden, the lush greenery, the architecture, the wine….I can’t pinpoint what made me fall in love. This was the culmination of my visit. As if beauty alone isn’t enough, Ferrari-Carano is a Certified California Sustainable Winery. They are making great wine without harming the earth. The icing on the cake? Their winemakers are all women.

If you have never been to wine country, I can attest that you will not be disappointed. If you don’t know where to go in wine country, I urge you to visit Sonoma County. If you are unsure of where to go or what to do while there, you will be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t experience the luxury of Vintners Inn and the beauty of Ferrari-Carano Vineyards and Winery.
